The Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe continued its 2026 season at the Slovakiaring, the longest and one of the most demanding circuits on the calendar. Measuring 5.922 kilometres and featuring 14 challenging corners, the Slovak venue once again provided a spectacular stage for Round 2 of the championship. Together with Porsche Slovakia, which hosted its Porsche Experience event, many spectators enjoyed a weekend of exciting racing under beautiful sunny skies.

Qualifying belonged to Czech rookie Matyas Faiereisl from Senkyr Motorsport. The championship contender secured pole position for both Sprint races and immediately established himself as one of the standout performers of the weekend.

Faiereisl converted his first pole position into victory in Sprint Race 1 after a strong and controlled drive. Behind him, the battle for the remaining podium positions remained intense throughout the race. Milan Sitniansky crossed the finish line in a strong position after an impressive recovery drive through the field, but was later disqualified following a technical infringement.

Sprint Race 2 delivered another thrilling battle at the front. This time, championship leader Markus Kajak came out on top, securing victory for Dream 2 Drive and extending his lead in the Sprint standings. Faiereisl once again finished among the frontrunners, ensuring that the duel between the two rookies remains one of the key storylines of the season.

The Endurance race provided an exciting conclusion to the weekend. After a highly competitive contest, Matyas Faiereisl and his teammates secured victory for Senkyr Motorsport, but only after one of the closest finishes of the season so far. At the chequered flag, the winning margin over the Dream 2 Drive pairing of Eduardas Klepikas and Markus Kajak was just 0.464 seconds, highlighting the competitiveness of the field. Another strong performance completed the overall podium.

The ProAM, AM and Masters categories once again produced close battles throughout the weekend. Mantas Janavicius and Marius Bartkus were among the standout performers in ProAM, while Peter Brunner and Tautvydas Rudokas continued their strong fight in the AM category. In Masters, Audrius Piktys added another class victory to his season tally. With valuable championship points awarded in every race and competitors from across Central and Eastern Europe representing numerous nations and teams, the series once again demonstrated its international character.

Following two rounds, Markus Kajak remains at the top of the Sprint championship standings with 50 points, ahead of Matyas Faiereisl on 45. In Endurance, Dieter Svepes leads the overall classification, while the category battles remain extremely close heading into the next round in Tor Poznan. 

With excellent weather and competitive racing across all classes, the Slovakiaring once again delivered a memorable weekend for the Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe. The championship now looks forward to Round 3 at Tor Poznań, where the battle for the 2026 titles will continue.
