Second place in Monza, second place in the championship: BWT Lechner Racing brought the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season to a successful conclusion. The team rounded off an eventful campaign packed with highlights, including race victories for Robert de Haan and Marcus Amand in the popular one-make series.

Yet another victory was within reach for BWT Lechner Racing in Monza. Both the Dutchman and the Finn showed the necessary venom to fight for the win. Amand made a flying start from third on the grid, immediately picking off his rivals to move up the order. De Haan showed cleverness to turn his fourth-place starting position into second by the first corner.

BWT Lechner Racing was in an ideal position for the remainder of the 15-lap race. However, a series of incidents and accidents in the midfield forced the race control to bring the contest to an early end with a red flag. As a result, the team was denied the opportunity to convert its strong pace and huge potential throughout the weekend into a well-earned victory. Robert de Haan, however, still had plenty of reason to celebrate.

“I was classified second, which gave me enough points to secure the vice-championship in the drivers’ standings. After winning the rookie title in 2024 and the vice-championship in 2025, this is my third successful season with the team in the Supercup. I’m incredibly grateful to BWT Lechner Racing for giving me the opportunity to compete against the best in the toughest one-make championship in the world.”

Once again BWT Lechner Racing ranked among the top teams not just in the drivers’ championship, but also in the teams’ classification. The team remained in contention for the title until the final race, ultimately securing third place in the standings. Marcus Amand and Caleb Sumich played a key role in this success, consistently scoring valuable points throughout the season. At Monza, the pair finished fourth and 13th, respectively. The team narrowly missed out on second place in the teams’ championship. As only half points were awarded due to the shortened race distance, BWT Lechner Racing fell just short of the points total required to claim second place – despite having achieved enough points on track under normal scoring conditions.

The team’s focus is already firmly set on the new season, which will be a particularly special one for BWT Lechner Racing. In 2027, the team will celebrate its 25th season in the world’s most popular one-make racing series.
